Screenprinted fashion collection presented at Fashionclash Festival 2014
With this collection I pushed my creativity. I started working with new inks in the screen printing lab. Working with puff ink (which is an ink that when heather puffs up) and foil ink (which is an ink that acts like a glue on which you then iron a foil) give this collection a special feeling and brought it to a new dimension.
The nighttime was the theme for this summer collection. The night has so many facets. It can be dark, lonely and full of fears. But it can also be full of joyous moments, moments of coming together with friends. Nights enlightened by music at a party.
The puff ink which rises up gave structure to the print. To add to this idea of different layers I also worked with a foil in silver gold and bronze tones.
This shimmer reminds me of the sun reflected onto tiles, in the early morning when the sun rises after a warm summer night. The silhouettes of the collection are like a canvas for the prints. With openings, see through peeks and an occasional nod to the waist line.
Collaborating with Marsha Kessels she designed necklaces that where a perfect combination with the clothes. She designed long necklaces with an amulet of silver and stone.Matching the color of the fabrics in the collection.
Ruben Reehorst took the photos of this collection. We went to a empty bowling alley. A funny coincidence was when we could find some traces of different night activities there…
