Fashionshoot Florine van Rees at Encie-groeve Maastricht

This collection was the first where production pieces of the capsule collection where combined with hand made pieces. In this collection I went on a search for a fitted silhouette. I dove into the 50’s fashion books and wondered how I could give the illusion of a waist. Without giving in on free range of motion or comfort for the wearer. Also I wanted this fitted silhouette to be my own variation, coherent with my aesthetic.

After a lot of research and all new basic pattern set ups, I found a way to work out this idea. The prints where simultaneously printed with hand drawn prints as the main focus. From very fine (on the red dress) to a more aggressive striped print made with a marker.

This is the first time Lies Wambacq and I worked together creatively. Both with different disciplines we found our work very complementary. Bouncing idea’s off of each. Her beautiful jewelry collection really highlighted my work and I hope visa versa.

For the shoot I asked Florine van Rees and she really captured the spirit of the collection. Worn by Selma Vogt and Sophie Nelissen, you get a sense of the mood, the new silhouette.
